The Juaboso District marked the 2025 Farmers’ Day celebration on 6th December 2025 at Bonsu Nkwanta, a suburb of Juaboso, with a call to strengthen support for farmers and agricultural development.

The event was graced by the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Juaboso District, Hon. Alexander Adu-Quist, alongside Heads of Departments and representatives from various government agencies within the district.

In his keynote address, Hon. Adu-Quist expressed appreciation for farmers in the district, describing them as the backbone of society and emphasizing that food security depends largely on their efforts. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the living standards of farmers and ensuring sustainable agricultural growth in the district.

The DCE outlined several initiatives aimed at supporting farmers and their families, including plans to provide scholarships for children of farmers at the tertiary level. He noted that the initiative is intended to ease the financial burden on farming households and promote education.

Hon. Adu-Quist also disclosed that discussions have been held with potential investors who are prepared to establish businesses in the district to create employment opportunities and increase local revenue generation.

Additionally, he highlighted a government-led agricultural initiative dubbed “Nkoko Nketenkete,” under which chickens will be distributed to residents to promote small-scale poultry farming. According to him, the project is expected to reduce the country’s dependence on imported chicks over time.

The event was attended by farmers, stakeholders, and community members, and was described as successful, reinforcing the district’s commitment to agricultural development and farmer welfare.
