Juaboso District Engages Stakeholders Ahead of LEAP Validation Exercise

The District LEAP Implementation Committee (DLIC) of the Juaboso District convened a stakeholder engagement meeting as part of preparations for the LEAP Validation Exercise, scheduled to commence in the last week of this month. The engagement follows the LEAP Re-Assessment exercise conducted last year.

The meeting was chaired by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Alexander Adu-Quist, and supported by the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Godfred K. B. Banormumah. Also present were the Head of Social Welfare, Mr. Amofa Lawrence; the Head of Human Resource Management, Mrs. Christina Boateng; the Head of Agriculture, Mr. Samuel Kwabena Sarfo; the Head of Development Planning, Mr. Eric Oppong; the Head of Statistics, Mr. Frederick Kofi Arhin; as well as other Heads of Departments from various sectors within the district.

The engagement sought to brief stakeholders on the validation process and to strengthen collaboration ahead of the exercise, which aims to ensure that assistance under the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) Programme reaches extremely poor and vulnerable households who meet the established eligibility criteria.

Operating under the national LEAP framework, with oversight from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) and support from development partners including UNICEF, the DLIC is responsible for coordinating LEAP implementation at the district level. Its mandate includes supporting beneficiary reassessment, identifying service delivery gaps, linking beneficiaries to complementary social services, and upholding principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability while minimizing inclusion and exclusion errors.
