Juaboso Assembly Prepares Traders for Relocation Ahead of 24-Hour Market Construction

The Juaboso District Assembly, under the leadership of the District Chief Executive, Hon. Alexander Adu-Quist, has commenced preparatory activities for the relocation of traders to pave the way for the construction of the proposed 24-hour economy market.

On 17th April 2026, the DCE, together with key technical officers including the Planning Unit, Engineers, Environmental Health Officers, and the MIS Unit, undertook a working visit to the designated relocation site to oversee initial demarcation and layout planning.

The relocation exercise will affect all traders currently operating within the existing market enclave, as the area is scheduled to be secured to allow for safe and uninterrupted construction works.

During the exercise, technical teams conducted measurements and initiated plans to organize traders into clearly defined sections, ensuring order, accessibility, and efficient use of space. The structured approach is expected to minimize congestion and promote a smooth transition.

Hon. Adu-Quist emphasized the importance of fairness and transparency in the allocation of trading spaces, assuring stakeholders that due consideration will be given to the needs of all affected traders.
